Beyond Coexistence: Feeding the Hungry January 18, 2014
January 18, 2014 @ 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
It is time once again to serve our great city and demonstrate our love for each other! We have neighbors do not have enough food in their pantry in the midst of our cold winter. We seek 85 volunteers from all walks of life and beliefs to organize food donations and help with the daily needs of Oklahoma’s own Regional Food Bank. Please give us a half-day or a whole day and make a difference to those who can not take for granted even the simplest of needs. (Note: this activity replaces our previously scheduled activity to help with vision screenings, which will take place later this year).
Date and Time: Saturday, January 18, 9am-12pm and 1-4pm (two separate shifts)
Location: Regional Food Bank Volunteer Center, 3355 South Purdue Avenue, OKC
We will meet at the main volunteer location (teams may assemble food packages, sort donations, clean and help sort and prepare mailings). No prior experience with any of these jobs is required, so we would love as many volunteers as we can get!
Goal: 35 volunteers in the morning, 50 in the afternoon.*
*Note: We would love to see at least 5-10 from each of the faith and humanitarian groups who are part of our community. Also, children 8 and older are welcome to come.
